WALL OF REMEMBRANCE

NICHES/COMMUNAL URN:

 

*  Limited to Catholics because of the sacramental blessing and commendation which will take place at the Wall of Remembrance.

*  St Louis Parishiners will have priority.

*  The placing of the ashes is done as part of the Sunday Mass and the family and priest walk out in procession to the Wall of Remembrance.

*  When ashes are to be placed in the wall, the payment has to be in full, before placing ashes in a niche or communal urn.

*  When niches are to be used as a memorial on the wall, then payment has to be in full, before placing memorial plaque on the wall.

 

 

PARISH PRIEST AND FINANCIAL COMMITTEE WILL DECIDE ON:

 

*  Approval of appication prior to the ashes being placed in the wall.

*  Niches or use of communal urn for Catholic family membersof St Louis Parishioners, including former parishioners and Catholics belonging to other parishes.

*  A three months waiting period will be in place for placing of ashes of people whose funeral were held at the parish, but who are not parishioners of St. Louis.

 

 

MEMORIALS:

 

*  Niches can be purchsed as a memorial for deceased parishioners or ex-parishioners.

 

 

PURCHASING OF NICHES:

 

*  The cost of the Niches for St Louis parishioners is R600 and will be revised annually.

*  The cost of a Niche for a non parishioner is R1500 and will be revised annually.

*  The cost for the use of communal urn is R100 and will be revised annually.

*  Payments to be made to the Maintenance Committee (Clemmy).

*  If a niche is booked, then the parishioner will be given the option to pay over 3 months period.

*  Niches that have been boked by parishioners has to be paid for, before additional niches are booked

  (i.e.  book a niche and make payment before the next one is booked).

*  If niches are paid for, and no longer require for watever reason, the refund will be based on 50% of the purchase price after consulting with Parish Priest and Parish Finance Committee.

 

 

DOCUMENTATION, RECEIPTS AND RECORDS:

 

*  Parish Finance Committee secretary to file all competed application forms.

*  When payments are made to the maintenance committee (Clemmy) a receipt will be used.

 

Please note that the placing of ashes in niches without following the above guidelines would require the family to remove the ashes until the process is followed.
